The following script is from a well known educational professor, Sir Ken Robinson. After asking a question, the Dalai Lama replies "I don't know,  what do you think?" Sir Robinson adds his reflection as he shares the story on TEDX talk;

"knowledge isn't about what you know, it's about what you

don't know and being prepared to say I

don't know. The world's great teachers are those who also learn with their students .Were all suppose to know and if you get it wrong you fail,actually all the great questions aren't terribly knowable even at the heart of science !"

PARENTS ARE OUR FIRST TEACHERS

TDTP believes that a child's first educator and main influence on learning and the way we learn is through the parent.  Parent involvement is key to student success, the activities in this website need to be undertaken with your support and guidance of an adult. In this way a partnership between you and your child's learning will flourish and thrive.

In the beginning of the year, I will set up a student of the week, when it is your child' turn they will come home with a bag containing a Bee-Bot and a note outlining access to the other two software programs. Forms for borrowing will be sorted at the beginning of the year. Over the year we will explore devices, such as; the iPad, and Bee-Bot, as well as,  software , like iPads and Scratch Junior.  You will be required to pick an activity from the bottom of the page under the device or software page. Choose one activity to do with your child. The activity needs to be returned to school whereby, the  child presents and shares their use of this device or soft ware with us.

NOTE:  Every student will have 4 turns, but please DO access this website anytime . No need to wait to be the S.O.W.

Dr Donohue  expressed the importance of parents and teaching professionals acting as ‘media mentors’. A ‘Media mentor’ is one who encourages confidence in children by modelling the use of  digital technology, whilst fostering their own skills.  (http://www.acecqa.gov.au/acecqa-newsletter-issue-11-2016).
